Upcoming Summer Intensive – August 1 – August 20,2016
Dive into the experience of a lifetime!
This 18 day, 200-hour, Yoga-Alliance-approved program, is for those who wish to learn the skill of teaching yoga, while becoming a better student. Lotus Life’s program is also for those wishing to deepen their understanig and practice, without necessarily wanting to become a teacher.
Lotus Life Yoga Center is an approved Registered Yoga School (RYS) through the Yoga Alliance (YA). This program covers everything one would need to know and understand in order to lead a yoga class with confidence and grace. Please note that an additional 20 hours, outside of the training, are required in order to fulfill the training requirements. These make up your non-contact hours (see below)
Students will learn:
– The history of yoga, Chakras, Nadis and Kriya
– Anatomy & Physiology
– Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle and Ethics
– Techniques for practice
– Teaching Methodology (you will practice teach several times)
– Basic principles behind Hatha Yoga
– Prenatal Yoga
– Yogic Nutrition, Vegetarianism and Veganism (philosophy and the how-to behind them)
– Partner Yoga
– Meditation and its techniques
– And more…
Students will be taught by a variety of highly-qualified instructors from the Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) team! These include: Kim Fischer, 500 RYT, Alexis Pierce, 500 RYT, Sarah Oakley, Prenatal Yoga Teacher and owner of MamaBirth Yoga and Kate O’Hara, Certified Aromatherapist and Yoga Teacher.
Daily sample class:
6-8:30 AM- Morning Sadhana (practice and personal experience)
8:30-9:00 AM- 30 min morning break w/lecture
9-12:00 PM- Philosophy and group discussions
12-1 PM-Afternoon Break
1-3:30 PM- Asana Inquiry
3:45-5:00 PM- Integration Practice and reflection of lessons learned
This summer intensive follows a 9:2:9 schedule. 9 days on, 2 days off, 9 days on again.
Monday, 8/1 through Tuesday, 8/9. We will enjoy a 2 day break on the 10th and 11th. Our program begins again on Thursday, 8/12 with completion on 8/20
7AM – 5 PM, every day.
8/21, 7-5 PM * Please note that this in the only option for make-up.
In order to complete all training hours required from YA, students will need to complete (20 hours) of at-home assignments, including but not limited to:
Reading several books from the required reading list (see below).
Writing assignments (Kim will email these to you).
Karma Yoga (volunteer work).
Personal Sadhana (practice) and journaling.
Cross training (logging hours).
